MALLORCA in winter⛄ (december 2018/january 2019)
Who said that Mallorca is good only on summer? It's totally not true! Of course there isn't high season but you can explore island without tourist crowds. And what is the most important! You can know island from the more Spanish side!
Weather in winter (I was 29December-1January): at DAY about 17Celsius (in the sun more than 20Celsius), at NIGHT about 7Celsius.
Few the most important information about island:
*the capital of island is Palma
*It's extremely popular holiday destination
*the international airport Palma de Mallorca airport is one of the bisiest in Spain ( in 2017 it was used by 28milion passengers
*population: about 900 000 inhabitants
Cheap flights during the New Year's eve could be found only from Berlin (Berlin Tegel airport). There are many flights everyday so you can find more cheaper tickets. Our flight was 6:00 on Saturday so it was necessary to stay overnight at the airport (There is quite comfortable airport 😃).
Unfortuanatelly from Berlin centre to Berlin Tegel airport it's a problem with public transport at night and a lot of people sleep on the airport. (Berlin-Palma-Berlin 75euro).
On Palma de Mallorce we've landed about 8:30. Sunnyday, palms what I needed more on winter!😎
Of course like before each journey I prepared special map with places MUST VISIT! The best option on island is rent a car. We paid 45euro (include extra insurence) for an economical car. It's much better option than public trainsport! You can go everythere and save time!
First point was (1.) CAP DE FORMENTOR. It's the northernmost tip of this island.
The next point was PLAYA DE MURO. It is a long wide sandy beach, very popular by sunbathers. There are many hotels and restaurants in area.
Final destination for Saturday was PORT DE SOLLER. There is harbour in wonderful little village on the west side of Mallorca. Soller is a popular touristic resort for tourists.
On the road you can see also ELEPHANTS! 🐘
The next point was famous touristic city PORTO CRISTO.
Finally we arrived to CALA MENDIA. It was so great weather! Sun was shining and was over 20 Celsjus. Honestly noone thought about swiming in winter in sea but life can't be bored! It was challange and great fun!
Next point on the map was Cala VERQUES and PONTE NATURAL. It wasn't easy to arrive there. Firstly we were going by stony road. It was risk that we break the tire.Than we stopped in forbidden place (We were too lazy to park car farer. Anyway it was over season and we hoped noone call to the police 😄. NO RISK=NO FUN). Then we needed to go by road about 1km and finally arrived to the "jungle" 😄. There were many different species of trees. About 20minthough the jungle and we were on Cala Verques. It was beautiful beach with cristal blue water and amazing views around! Walking on the rocks we've seen Ponte Natural! It's rocku bridge!
The night was coming so Cala Llombards was the last point for that day.
Monday morning we rent a bike (it's possible since 5euro/24h). We were bicycling whole day along the coast! We did more than 20km!
6:30 Party was finished! → Let's go to the airport!!! 😂😂😂
Hasta pronto España !!!💗
